How BizDecks creates business framework guides

BizDecks publishes practical explanations of established business models and frameworks. The guides are written to help readers understand what a model does, when it may be useful and where its limitations begin.

Authorship and responsibility

BizDecks is the organizational author and publisher of these guides. We do not describe a guide as independently expert reviewed unless that review has actually taken place and can be identified.

Our editorial process

1. Define the model, its main components and its intended decision context.
2. Check names, concepts and commonly accepted applications against credible business literature or the framework owner's material where available.
3. Add practical steps, an illustrative example, common mistakes and explicit limitations.
4. Review titles, descriptions, images and internal links for accuracy and clarity.
5. Record the publication and updated dates in the article.

Examples and limitations

Examples are illustrative unless a guide clearly identifies a real organization and source. The companies in our guides are fictional and are labelled as such. A framework is a structured thinking tool, not proof, professional advice or a substitute for current evidence. Readers should test assumptions and use appropriate financial, legal, technical or sector expertise where a decision requires it.

Corrections and updates

We update a guide when a material error, unclear explanation or outdated point is identified. Use the BizDecks contact page to report a correction and include the guide title and the exact point that needs review.

Correction log

• 5 September 2026, Break-even Analysis guide. The worked example divided fixed costs by the contribution margin percentage and called the result a number of units. That calculation gives break-even revenue, not units. Corrected: break-even in units = fixed costs divided by the contribution per unit; break-even revenue = fixed costs divided by the contribution margin ratio. An illustrative calculation with both figures was added.
• 5 September 2026, all 15 guides. The section "What's on the BizDecks card" suggested that the company in the guide is the example printed on the card. The printed card carries its own short example. Every guide now states that the company in the guide is a separate, fictional illustration.
